Thinking and dancing around club culture. 5,6 & 7 December 2024
Brussels By Night is organizing the first edition of a new event in Brussels, called Brussels Nightcall, taking place on Thursday 5, Friday 6 and Saturday 7th of December 2024.
Brussels Nightcall is an event dedicated to nightlife that combines daytime talks, workshops, and conferences focusing on the hot topics and challenges currently impacting the sector, along with night-time events. Our aim is to offer a platform to highlight the nightlife sector and its vibrant community, showcasing clubs, night bars, collectives, and more within Brussels By Night. It provides a space for discussing hot topics in the sector, encouraging debate and fostering the questioning of our practices, including on a political and socio-economic level. It will bring together nightlife professionals, specialists, decision-makers, and an engaged audience.
During the day, around 15 talks, workshops and conferences will be held across three venues: C12 on Thursday, UMI on Friday, and Fuse on Saturday. The discussions will reflect the current key challenges faced by the sector. Topics will include the difficulties faced by the organizations, precarity of nightlife, the issue of noise pollution, understanding the public, political support, envisioning the future of nightlife in Brussels, care and harm reduction…
At night, the program will feature a diverse array of events organized by Brussels By Night’s members, showcasing the best of Brussels’ nightlife. This will be an opportunity for attendees to experience the city’s unique atmosphere while connecting with fellow nightlife enthusiasts and celebrate all together the vibrant culture of Brussels.
Brussels By Night is a non-profit organization (ASBL) whose mission is to highlight the nightlife sector and its actors such as clubs, promoters, night bars, concert halls and festivals within the Brussels-Capital Region and to provide a better night-time ecosystem for the people.
The idea of a Brussels nightlife federation was first raised in early 2020. Following discussions with the Brussels-Capital Region, the founders of BBN started contemplating the existence of a structure representing nightlife professionals. After months of meetings, including both the sector and the public authorities, it was decided to set up Brussels by Night, dedicated to becoming a representative union of nightlife professional players focused on the public needs.
Today, on the one hand, Brussels by Night aims to promote and enhance the role of Brussels as a national and international key player in terms of nightlife and festivities. On the other hand, it accompanies the professionals and ensures the role of moderator between public authorities and the sector regarding various issues and challenges which the actors may face in terms of safety, public health, employment, mobility, law, administration, communication, etc.
