Lavishing praise on Kerala as one of India’s most beautiful states with spectacular beaches, lush backwaters, temples, and palaces, the magazine noted, “This year, Kerala is boosting motor-home tourism in India to inspire a new pas de deux of exploration and accommodation. As a teenage schoolboy, Syeedna Ismail Hussain Banday cultivated pigeon keeping as his favorite hobby in the heart of Indian-controlled Kashmir. Three decades later, though he went on to become a civil engineer and set up his own construction company, his untiring love for pigeons continues. Helicopter services open for tourists in Ladakh

The helicopter services in Ladakh are now open for tourists to travel across the Union Territory, with the first batch of tourists having already availed the heli-service, officials said. The first batch took the helicopter ride here on Tuesday. The helicopter services operated by the administration will be available to the locals and tourists in general across sectors in the Union territory, they said. 10 lakh people expected to gather for Puri Ratha Jatra

Around 10 lakh people are expected to gather for the festival in the temple town from across the country, and some foreign nations, Director of Health Service Bijay Mohapatra said. The festival of Lord Jagannath this time will see the participation of devotees after two years. In 2020 and 2021, only servitors took part in rituals due to the pandemic. Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on the occasion of World Environment Day on Sunday declared Blue Duke the state butterfly. He made the announcement at a function held here. Of the 720 species of butterflies found in Sikkim, Blue Duke was selected as the state butterfly securing 57 per cent votes in a recent online poll conducted by the Forest Department. Blue Duke, which goes by the scientific name Bassarona durga durga, is unique to Sikkim and the eastern Himalayas. It was discovered in the state in 1858. Blue Duke falls in Schedule 2 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and is a protected species in the Himalayas.
