Teen aviator Zara Rutherford landed in Coimbatore on Thursday as part of her bid to become the youngest woman to fly around the world solo and cover 51,000 kms, spanning five continents and 52 countries. The 19-year old British-Belgian Zara embarked on her journey on August 18 from Kortrik Wevelgem Airport in Belgium to set a world record to become the youngest solo pilot of the world's fastest Shark Ultralight plane. Two more vistadome train services were flagged off in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday, aimed at boosting trade and tourism through rail connectivity and promoting the cultural heritage of the northeast. Vistadome coaches are equipped with glass windows and roofs for a better view of scenic landscapes, as well as observation lounges. The new train services between Guwahati-Naharlagun and Naharlagun Tinsukia were flagged off by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at Guwahati Railway Station, and his Arunachal Pradesh counterpart Pema Khandu at Naharlagun Railway Station in that state. An Indian Desert Cat has been spotted for the first time in Madhya Pradesh's Panna Tiger Reserve (PTR), a senior forest official claimed. A tourist has shared the pictures taken by him of an Indian Desert Cat in the reserve's Akola buffer zone of the reserve recently during the night safari," PTR's field director Uttam Kumar Sharma said on Saturday. As the name suggests, this cat is found in deserts and can survive without water. Rates for various tourist services in Kashmir notified

The Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir has notified rates for various services provided to tourists and activities conducted at tourist destinations across the Valley, officials said on Friday. A notification to this effect under the Jammu and Kashmir Registration of Tourist Trade Act was issued by Director, Tourism, Kashmir, G N Itoo here on Thursday. The rates have been notified for the year 2021-22 and 2022-2023, the notification said. Hundreds of devotees thronged the much-revered Tara Tarini temple in Odisha's Ganjam district on Monday when it reopened for public after nearly nine months. The temple, located on top of a hillock on the banks of the Rushikulya river, was opened a day after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik visited it.
