Egypt finds ancient military vessel, Greek graves in sunken city

Divers have discovered rare remains of a military vessel in the ancient sunken city of Thônis-Heracleion - once Egypt's largest port on the Mediterranean - and a funerary complex illustrating the presence of Greek merchants, the country said on Monday. Tiger count goes up in Amrabad Reserve

The Telangana Forest Department has said there are 14 tigers in the Amrabad Tiger Reserve as against 12 recorded in 2019. The Amrabad reserve is home to the highest population of tigers in the State. The latest findings on the presence of the big cats cameout during the phase-IV monitoring carried out in 2020- 21, according to an official release. "During the phase-IV census in 2019, there were 12 identified tigers. In the phase-IV monitoring in 2020-21, the number increased to 14..." it said. The State of Qatar has re-opened its borders to international travellers who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with vaccines that are approved for use by the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar. A new streamlined set of measures designed to make travelling to Qatar as easy as possible, while maintaining the necessary precautions to continue to protect against the spread of COVID-19, has been implemented and is effective immediately. Despite pressure from neighbouring Uttar Pradesh government to allow, the Uttarakhand government on Tuesday cancelled the Kanwar Yatra in view of the looming threat of a third wave of COVID-19. "We decided to cancel the yatra, according topmost priority to human life in view of the threat of a possible third wave, the surfacing of the Delta Plus variant of the virus and its impact across the country and abroad," Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said.
