Kerala opens tourism spots but beaches to open from Nov 1

Kerala on Monday opened its tourism destinations, barring beaches, for visitors by strictly adhering to COVID-19 protocol, signalling the revival of the revenue-generating industry that remained shut for the last seven months following the outbreak of the pandemic. As per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) issued by the Government in this regard, the visitors will have to follow Break the Chain norms including wearing of masks, use of soap and sanitizer and social distancing. The destinations and services that have resumed receiving guests include houseboats on backwaters, personalized boating and adventure tourism spots, which normally have controlled access where it is easy to implement the SMS (Social distancing, Mask and Soap Sanitizer) ...

Patnitop ropeway restarts commercial operations

The Patnitop ropeway in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday started weekend commercial operations after being closed for over six months due to coronavirus pandemic. The Empyrean Skyview Project is India's highest ropeway in terms of ground clearance of over 65 meters and the largest Indo-French collaboration in mountain infrastructure development. Second phase of Gulmarg cable car to reopen from Oct 10

The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Thursday decided to reopen the second phase of the Gulmarg cable car between Kongdoori and Apharwat for commercial operation from October 10. "The second phase of Gulmarg Gondola shall be operational only on weekends -- Saturdays and Sundays -- for the time being, while the operation of Gondola for the first phase, that is Gulmarg to Kongdoori, will continue to remain functional on daily basis," an official spokesman said here.
