Switzerland reimposes some travel restrictions

Europe continues to be getting nervous on rising COVID-19 cases. The way various countries are changing quarantine rules so frequently, they have more or less become like stock indices to be kept track of on regular basis. In the most recent development, Switzerland has amended its list of countries at risk from high rates of infection with the new coronavirus. List now covers all nations outside Europe’s passport-free Schengen zone barring a score of exceptions. The new list has some notable exceptions though, including Australia, Ireland, Japan, Canada, South Korea and New Zealand, although Australia and Japan are themselves facing a resurgence of novel coronavirus in their respective countries. Passengers flying to Goa must adhere to new quarantine guidelines in the wake of quarantine, said Airports Authority of India on Wednesday. As per the new directives, all arriving passengers shall be required to go for 14 days of home quarantine or they can opt for 14 days of paid institutional quarantine. Institutional quarantine is mandatory for symptomatic passengers till test result is available. However, passengers shall be exempted from home quarantine in below cases: Passenger is able to produce a COVID-19 negative certificate issued by an ICMR-recognized lab, not older than 48 hours prior to the arrival in Goa.Passenger opts for swab test upon arrivals at a cost of ₹2000 and agrees to remain in paid institutional/home quarantine till the time test result is available. ...

Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has launched #BufferMeinSafar campaign to attract tourists to its national parks and wildlife sanctuaries in monsoon, said an official on Tuesday. While core areas are closed between July and September due to the rains, buffer areas of forests, wildlife parks and sanctuaries remain open for exploration and offer several activities like safaris, bird-watching etc, a MPTB release said. 85 percent work completed on Kailash Mansarovar route

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that massive work is underway for highways construction and almost 85 per cent work has been completed on the Kailash Mansarovar route via Pithoragarh. In addition, work is on in full swing on the Chardham project entailing a cost of about Rs 12,000 crore, the road transport and highways minister said while addressing an event through video conferencing.
