Jageshwar temple is located 36 km northeast of Almora, in Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. Jageshwar is located at an altitude of 1870 mts, in the Jataganga river valley in midst of a dense Deodar forest. Jageshwar is believed to be the site of first of the twelve Jyotirlingas, Nageshvara Jyotirlinga. The temple city comprises a cluster of 124 large and small stone temples, dating 9th to 13th century AD. The Mahamrityunjay temple is the largest and oldest temple in the Jageshwar temple complex. Nilgiri Tahr is endemic to the hill ranges of the Western Ghats of Southern peninsular India. Those who have travelled frequently to Lahaul & Spiti can find the similarity to Himalayan Tahr. They are indeed closely related and so is the Arabian Tahr which is found in arid mountains of Sultanate of Oman. Travel to Eravikulam National park can’t be complete without mentioning Nilgiri Tahr. Two reasons for it, firstly this animal can be seen only in these hills of the park, and secondly, this is an endangered animal under the IUCN red list. Modern Bhutanese Dance during the inauguration ceremony of Naropa 2016 at Hemis, Ladakh. Its slow and soothing dance, just perfect for everybody to join in. Billed as the "Kumbh Mela of the Himalayas" and "Ladakh's Largest Buddhist Festival in History", the Naropa festival takes place once every 12 years. It's celebrated by the Drukpa Order of Himalayan Buddhism in honour of their 11th century patron saint, Naropa. This is the Ratu crater of active volcano at Tangkuban Parahu near Bandung in West Java province of Indonesia. This volcano had last eruption just a year before in July 2019. Tangkuban Parahu is a natural Park located at the altitude of 2084 metres. There are three main craters here- Ratu, Upas and Domas. Ratu is the main crater, visited most and has the most developed infrastructure around. There are a couple of adjacent craters. There also some hot springs in the natural park. Few of them have so much hot water that people cook meal on them. (We do so in our hot springs, in Manikarn near Kullu, Himachal Pradesh.) Here the team is performing Raas Sankirtana or Nupa Pala. Poorvaranga or Purvaranga of a Natyashastra is Sankirtana. “Sankirtana: Ritual singing, drumming and dancing of Manipur” was also inscribed on the Representative List of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in December 2013. Manipuri dance is a religious art and its aim is the expression of spiritual values. Aspects of this performance art is celebrated during Hindu festivals and major rites of passage such as weddings among the Manipuri people, particularly in the ethnic majority of Meitei people. The dance drama choreography shares the plays and stories of 'Vaishnavite Padavalis', that also inspired the major Gaudiya Vaishnava-related performance arts found in Assam and West Bengal.
