Thai capital Bangkok has a host of floating markets. The floating markets in Bangkok are one of the country’s biggest attractions. Although many of the waterways have been replaced by the road, their unmistakable charm makes them destinations worth visiting. These floating markets are very popular among tourists especially for shopping. Almost every traveller has a visit to at least one on their first trip here. Floating markets are Taling Chan Market, Bang Ku Wiang Market, Tha Kha, and Damnoen Saduak. There are actually several floating markets around Bangkok open all day, including a small but very nice one just 12km from Siam Paragon. In these floating markets boats are piled high with tropical fruit and vegetables, fresh, ready-to-drink coconut juice and local food cooked from floating kitchens located right on the boat. Tourists thoroughly enjoy them as treat to be in boat.
