A 16th century palace to be Tivoli’s second property in Italy

Tivoli Hotels & Resorts has announced the brand’s expansion in Italy with the addition of a historical property in Florence – Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi Firenze Hotel. A luxury palace from the 16th century, the property has recently been restored and is scheduled to launch as Tivoli in June.

Located in the heart of Florence, Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi is close to the main cultural attractions, including the Duomo complex, the Piazzale Michelangelo, the Medici Chapel and the San Lorenzo market. The hotel is also just a few minutes’ walk from Santa Maria Novella railway station and a 20-minute drive from Amerigo Vespucci Airport.

Originally made up of two historical buildings belonging to two aristocratic Florentine families – the Gaddis and the Arrighettis, Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi is a living testimony to a noble past with unique historical and artistic treasures, such as frescoed rooms, artist’s paintings and art objects, many dating back to the 16th century. The building features typically Florentine architecture and has recently been renovated by internationally renowned interior designers, Patrizia Quartero and Guy Oliver, preserving the character and noble spirit of its Renaissance history.

Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi offers 86 guest rooms, including four suites, blending authentic period furnishings and Florentine art with contemporary comfort and functionality. The presidential suite has a panoramic terrace with breath-taking views over the cathedral and the city.

Tivoli is offering its guests an authentic cuisine in every destination and Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi will be no exception. Led by the renowned Italian awarded Michelin Star chef Iside de Cesare, the new fine dining restaurant promises an innovative gastronomic journey through Tuscan and Italian cuisine, bringing the flavours to the centre of the dining experience. The Winter Garden is the true jewel of the restaurant – a small magical garden with a cosy and unique atmosphere, making each meal a true Italian experience.

The hotel’s elegant rooftop bar is the perfect place to enjoy the unforgettable summer sunsets with refreshing cocktails, light snacks and one of the best views over the city and the Duomo, whilst the lobby bar, with its distinctive skylight and fireplace, offers refined cocktails, selected wines and delicious appetisers inspired by the local culinary tradition. These three restaurants and bars will be managed by the chef Iside de Cesare and her team, who will bring their expertise and creativity to the gastronomic offer of the Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi.

For those looking for a dream venue in the heart of Firenze, Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi is the perfect destination. With three impressive rooms, each with magnificent frescoed ceilings, the hotel can host beautiful events, ceremonies and weddings. The property has five meeting spaces in total, with a capacity up to 200 people.

We are delighted to soon become the newest member of the Tivoli brand. This historic palace will be a perfect addition to the Tivoli portfolio, a property where the brand’s classical hospitality will combine with the Florentine history, in terms of service, experiences and cuisine”

– Pierluca Chiavetta, General Manager of Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi

When the property rebrands from NH Collection in June, Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi will be the second Tivoli in Italy, joining Tivoli Portopiccolo Sistiana Wellness Resort & Spa which launched in June 2023.

With a journey that dates back to 1933 in Lisbon, Portugal, Tivoli Hotels & Resorts stands out for its cultural heritage and authentic connection to each destination. The brand arrives in Florence in June 2024 while closing a year of celebrations of its 90th anniversary with special guest experiences, like the Tivoli Timeless Tour and The Room 90, available here.
