Cala Goloritze in Italy is named the best beach in the world for 2025

The World’s 50 Best Beaches 2025 announced following survey of 1,000 travel industry professionals

  • Rounding out the top three were Entalula Beach in the Philippines and Bang Bao Beach in Thailand.
  • Greece and Australia are hotspots in 2025 with 3 beaches each on the list.

The World’s 50 Best Beaches has released its highly anticipated annual list of the top beaches across the globe. The list is the result of a unique collaboration with over 1,000 of the world’s leading travel influencers and professionals, including prominent names such as Miss.everywhere, Terplanet, Sassychris, Pilot Madeleine, Missangievilla and others.

Best beach in the world, Cala Goloritzé feels like more than just a beach – its raw beauty has a way of touching you emotionally the moment you lay eyes on it. Whether you’re looking down from the viewpoint above or standing at the shore with your feet in the water, the scene is truly breathtaking. While the entire Baunei Coast is stunning, Cala Goloritzé stands out, thanks in part to its dramatic 143-metre limestone pinnacle, reminiscent of something out of a cathedral. The water here is unbelievably clear and perfect for swimming, but what truly sets this beach apart are the strong conservation efforts that protect it. Declared a natural monument in the 1990s, Cala Goloritzé remains remarkably preserved. Access is limited to those who hike in – with a restricted number of tickets sold daily – or to swimmers arriving from boats moored 200 metres away, behind a protective barrier that keeps the beach free from boat traffic. It’s the perfect blend of unspoiled natural beauty and a beach experience unlike any other.

Unlike any other ranking, The World’s 50 Best Beaches is based on votes from its network of Judges as well as from over 1,000 vetted travel professionals – including industry experts and high-profile influencers. This ensures the ranking reflects real, on-the-ground expertise, not general reviews or popularity metrics.

No 2 in thee list and loved for its amazing seclusion, Entalula Beach in Palawan, Philippines, impresses with its striking limestone cliffs that provide a stunning and dramatic backdrop to its white, sandy shores. This beach is less frequented than others in the area, offering visitors a chance to escape the usual tourist spots and truly immerse themselves in nature. The water is remarkably clear, providing excellent conditions for both swimming and snorkeling, where visitors can explore vibrant coral reefs just a short swim from the shore. Accessible only by boat, Entalula adds an element of adventure and exclusivity to any visit. Its striking natural features and tranquil atmosphere make it a coveted spot for relaxation and appreciating nature.

“Our 2025 list is the result of countless days spent by our judges, Beach Ambassadors, and the World’s 50 Best team exploring coastlines across the globe,” said Tine Holst, Co-Founder of The World’s 50 Best Beaches. “Our mission is to inspire travelers to go beyond the typical tourist hotspots and discover the kind of beach experiences they’ve always dreamed of—places that are truly breathtaking, peaceful, and unforgettable.”

With increasing tourism in Thailand, the island of Koh Kood seems to still remain quiet avoiding big crowds making its beaches like Bang Bao Beach remain quiet and pristine, which is 3rd in the list. Bang Bao Beach has all the elements of a perfect Thai beach, framed by lush jungle and very clear, shallow waters ideal for swimming and just an overall laid-back atmosphere. What also makes Bang Bao Beach unique is its charming fishing village, where visitors can stroll along a wooden pier and enjoy fresh seafood at local restaurants. The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty instead of big tourist development but instead stunning views of the Gulf of Thailand and nearby islands.

The World’s 50 Best Beaches 2025 is a reflection of the collective expertise and travel experience of some of the most trusted voices in the industry. Beaches were evaluated across eight key criteria: unique characteristics, wildlife, untouched nature, natural soundtrack, ease of water entry, frequency of calm conditions, lack of overcrowding, and consistency of idyllic settings.

New countries on the list this year include Madagascar, Yemen, Antigua & Barbuda, United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, Tanzania, France, Ireland, the Maldives as well as overseas territories American Samoa, the British Virgin Islands and Bonaire

The World’s 50 Best Beaches team spent months consulting with top travel experts and influencers, aggregating their nominations and ranking the beaches based on both the volume of votes and how well each scored against the set criteria. By tapping into the direct experience and insights of those shaping the travel landscape, the list represents a truly expert-driven guide to the best beaches in the world.
