Visiting holistic wellness practitioners at Anantara Layan and Mai Kho take you to journeys of body and mind

Wellness enthusiasts have long sought out tropical destinations as an ideal setting for restorative journeys of body and mind. Known for its palm fringed coastlines and turquoise waters, Phuket, Thailand is cementing itself as the wellness destination of choice for in the know travellers. Guests of Anantara Layan Phuket Resort and Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas can enjoy an enhanced wellness offering with a series of new collaborations in the months of March and April.

Designed to complement Anantara’s network of Masters of Wellness and in-house therapists, the new five-week residency programmes tap the unique skill sets of three visiting practitioners: yogi Dheeraj Patwal who with a background in healing, breathwork and spiritual traditions will be in residence at Anantara Layan from 1-14 March; and Paramjot Singh Khalsa & Evelyn Wörz will offer life style coaching, energy and sound healing therapies at Anantara Mai Khao from 29 March to 18 April.

Whether guests have a clearly defined goal in mind, such as stress management, or are simply seeking to review their lifestyle choices and evaluate change, choose individual therapies from the a la carte menus or opt for a three- to seven-day ‘Mindfulness Journey’ package that combines selected wellness services and spa treatments.

‘Touch of Soul’ with Paramjot Singh Khalsa and Evelyn Wörz

Focusing on naturopathy, kundalini yoga, meditation and healing, the programme addresses such concerns as acute and chronic pain, emotional trauma, addictions, insomnia, burn out, depression and anxiety. The signature ‘Touch of Soul’ healing session offers a spiritual-psychological analysis of one’s life journey combined with the ancient technology of reiki to balance and harmonise your mental and physical body. Couples can sign up for the ‘Heart to Heart’ session— a powerful meditative and emotional cleansing session to take intimacy to the deepest level possible.

Achieving sustainable change with Dheeraj Patwal

Dheeraj Patwal combines the effects of yoga, psychotherapy and spirituality to treat modern afflictions, including a group of symptoms caused by sitting or remaining in the same position for long periods of time. His ‘Office Syndrome’ therapy promises to relieve neck and shoulder pain familiar to most office workers. Master yogi also offers a wide range of yoga therapies, including hatha, Iyengar, pregnancy and wheel yoga, as well as pranayama breathing exercise to supercharge your whole body, guided meditation, crystal sound healing, reiki and Pilates sessions.

Cocooned in serenity, Anantara Spa at Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas is set in the perfect location to prepare the mind for a journey towards improved wellbeing. A sun-dappled lagoon filled with blooming lilies offers a soothing backdrop to where to unlock your mind, rebalance your body and inspire spiritual growth. A scenic 30-minute drive down the coast lies the serene spa of Anantara Layan offering a heaven of lotus ponds where guests can slow down, address emotional imbalances in a controlled environment and indulge in indigenous spa treatments.
