वह माया थी, अपने चार शावकों के साथ। माया बाघिन ने तादोबा को उसी तरह की ख्याति दे दी है जिस तरह की कभी मछली बाघिन ने राजस्थान में रणथंबौर को दी थी। टेलिया इलाके में सैलानी अक्सर माया को उसके बच्चों के साथ देखने के लिए जरूरत आते हैं। हालांकि तादोबा को लोकप्रिय बनाने में माया के अलावा वाघदोह बाघ का भी बहुत हाथ रहा है, जिसके बारे में कहा जाता है कि वह भारत का सबसे बड़ा बाघ है। अब यह कितना सच है, कहना मुश्किल है लेकिन इसमें कोई दोराय नहीं कि वाघदोह को देखा तो लगता है कि वह वाकई बड़ा ही भव्य और दिव्य है। बाघ परिवार के पांच सदस्यों को एक साथ देखने का रोमांच सबको नसीब नहीं होता बहरहाल, यहां मैं जंगल के बीच पेड़ में मचान पर बैठा था और नीचे माया अपने परिवार के साथ पानी में खिलवाड़ कर रही थी। मई के महीने की कड़क दोपहर के बाद शाम ढलने वाली थी। जानवरों के सेंसस (गिनती) में भाग लेने का मेरे लिए त...

Goa govt allows casinos to reopen from Nov 1

The Goa cabinet on Wednesday decided to allow casinos to reopen in the state from November 1 by following the COVID-19 prevention guidelines. The coastal state has six offshore and around a dozen onshore casinos, which have been shut since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in March this year. Indonesia’s environment ministry on Tuesday sought to calm outrage over construction of an island tourism project being dubbed “Jurassic Park”, after an image went viral on social media of a Komodo dragon facing off with a big truck. The picture of the dragon, one of the world’s largest lizards, blocking the path of a big vehicle on Indonesia’s Rinca Island prompted an outpouring of anger about perceived threats to the natural habitat of the vulnerable species. Reuters was not able to verify the authenticity of the picture. In order to boost tourism amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the reopening of the world-famous Dudhwa Tiger Reserve (DTR) has been preponed to November 1. "Strict COVID protocals for the tourists as well as those visiting DTR have been imposed this season starting November 1. Any violation of the protocol would be taken seriously," Field director, DTR Sanjay Kumar Pathak said. Normally, the tourist season in Dudhwa starts on November 15 and concludes on June 15 every year.
