Get out and about
Bamboo rafting offers a unique way to explore the lush waterways and local reptiles in the area. Propelled with bamboo poles by expert locals, these traditionally crafted bamboo rafts glide through the crystal-clear water and small rapids. The polers, who stand at the front of the raft, watch for small animals hiding in the tree canopy and find tranquil spots where adventurers can take refreshing dips in cool water.
For scuba divers, the nearby Similan Islands are easily reached by boat. Diving season is from late October to early May and the beautiful granite islands offer numerous dive sites where hawksbill turtles, moray eels, reef sharks, cuttlefish and large schools of yellow snapper can be found.
The Andaman coastline is one of the most iconic seascapes in the world with stunning rock formations and karst islands and it’s just waiting to be explored. Go island hopping by speed boat to Phang Nga Bay or Phi Phi. Spend the day soaking up the sun and snorkelling.
