62% increase in demand for destination weddings; Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Udaipur are the top 3 choices

Wedding Planning queries up by 30% in H1 2021 for the Sept-Dec 2021 period vis a vis last year. With tech-savvy consumers, 79% enquiries came in from major cities. Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bangalore among the top 3.

As one of the fastest-growing and trusted wedding technology platforms, WeddingWire India saw a 30% jump in queries in H1 2021 for vendor services vis a vis last year. The statistics showcase increased interest in planning and scheduling weddings in the Sept-Dec 2021 period. The demand for destination weddings has gone up by 62% with Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Udaipur being the top 3 choices.

As per the data, venues were the top enquired service at 50% followed by photographers (13%) and Make-Up (9%). As compared to tier 2 cities, major cities and metros reported 79% enquiries with more tech-savvy consumers. While Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bangalore landed in the top 3, the company also saw demand for these services from cities like Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Udaipur, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Kanpur, Goa, and Kerala.

The data also highlighted that when it comes to wedding planning, the bride inevitably takes lead with 2X more enquires as compared to the groom. Interestingly, while both Bride and Groom agreed that venue was the most important decision to make, their second choice was make-up and photography, respectively.
