Selected by popular vote at World Cruise Awards, NCL is the World’s Best Cruise Line

Oceanwide Expeditions has been named World’s Best Expedition Cruise Line 2022 in the second annual World Cruise Awards.

World Cruise Awards – the global initiative to recognise and reward excellence in the cruise industry – has announced on Tuesday the highly-anticipated winners of its 2022 programme.

Starting from humble origins as a one-ship Spitsbergen charterer to the multi-vessel fleet, Oceanwide now operates in the Arctic and Antarctica today.

Brands to win top honours include Norwegian Cruise Line (‘World’s Best Cruise Line’ for 2nd year in row), Port of Falmouth, Jamaica (‘World’s Best Cruise Terminal’), Cruise Planners (‘World’s Best Cruise Travel Agency’) and American Cruise Lines (‘World’s Best River Cruise Line’).

Destination winners included Dubai named ‘World’s Best Cruise Destination’. Vietnam also enjoyed a strong showing, winning ‘World’s Best River Cruise Destination’. Egypt was named ‘Africa’s Best Cruise Destination’, Singapore as ‘Asia’s Best Cruise Destination’, Jamaca as ‘Caribbean’s Best Cruise Destination’, Madeira (Portugal) as ‘Europe’s Best Cruise Destination’, Mauritius as ‘Indian Ocean’s Best Cruise Destination’, Mexico as ‘Latin America’s Best Cruise Destination’, Dubai as ‘Middle East’s Best Cruise Destination’, Florida as ‘North America’s Best Cruise Destination’ and Fiji as ‘Oceania’s Best Cruise Destination’.

In the newcomer categories, Nassau Cruise Port was hailed ‘World’s Best New Cruise Development’, and Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas was voted ‘World’s Best New Cruise Ship’.

The results follow a year-long search for the world’s leading cruise brands. Votes were cast by cruise industry professionals and the public, with the nominee gaining the most votes in a category named as the winner.

Other winners include Viking Egdir (‘World’s Best River Cruise Ship’); Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 (World’s Best Cruise Ship for Entertainment’); Lindblad Expeditions (‘World’s Best Green Cruise Line’); Oceanwide Expeditions (‘World’s Best Expedition Cruise Line’); Valletta Cruise Port (Malta) (‘World’s Best Cruise Terminal for Sustainability 2022’); Symphony of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) (‘World’s Best Large Cruise Ship 2022’); Celebrity Millennium (‘World’s Best Midsize Cruise Ship 2022’) and Silver Origin (‘World’s Best Small Cruise Ship’).
