Ritu Basant tum apney umang so… Pandit Madhup Mudgal’s (पंडित मधुप मुदगल) Hindustani classical vocal in Raag Bageshree. This particular raag is said to be the combination of now obsolete two raagas- Dhanashri and Kanda. Bageshree was said to have been first sung by none other than Miyan Tansen himself, the celebrated court singer of the Mughal Emperor Akbar, among his nine jewels. This particular bandish (rendition) by probably Khwaja Nizamuddin Aulia is about welcoming the youthfulness of the season of spring!
It is also referred to as Raag Bageshri Bahar, as in Jaipur Atrauli Gharana sing the same bandish, with the similar structure in Vilambit. It is also sung as Adana Bahar particularly by the Patiala tradition.
